If I could choose one “mantra” or “slogan” to guide my life, it’s this one:
“Chase your passion whole heartedly”

About Me
I’m based in San Antonio, TX where I live with my fiance Renee and our two cats, Mystique and Crawler, and our dog Storm.
Over the years I have established my private practice working with over 150 clients to help them achieve their fitness goals and physique competitions.
 
A website like mine is what I always wanted when I first got into bodybuilding. I wanted a resource that could teach not only what to do, but also explain why I am doing it. I want to share my success in owning my private practice and building a pro bodybuilding physique. I hope you read these words and can feel the driving force behind what I do and likely why you are here…passion.
How it Began
I first started lifting in middle school. I was the kid with 6-pack abs and big biceps (for a middle schooler). I couldn’t satisfy my knowledge on training or nutrition. I had to read everything and know how the body worked. I remember in my science class being the only kid that could explain what Adenosine Tri-Phosphate did in the body. This same hunger for knowledge is what led me to get my Bachelors in Exercise Science and Masters in Nutrition. I always thought if I couldn’t explain why I did something then I couldn’t teach or coach others to the best of my ability.
 
Just before I began my Masters degree I learned about online nutrition coaches. The thought intrigued me, at the ability to disperse my skills to anyone in the world. This is when I started J3 Sports RD. My first clients were friends I helped for bodybuilding shows, the funny part was I hadn’t even competed yet myself. But this lead to more clients asking for help and transitioned my dream job into reality.
My Fitness
I would never say I was a genetic anomaly in musculature, I was a pretty scrawny kid, but I was strong. In 9th grade I searched out a group of powerlifters that took me under their wing and taught me how to train properly and give all out intensity into lifts. I established a foundation on bench press, squats, and deadlifts. I broke 12 world records in powerlifting with the greatest feat being a 706lb bench press and an 1820lb total for the squat, bench, and deadlift. I figured lifting this much weight I would be a pretty big guy by then, but I wasn’t.
This is when my passion for bodybuilding was lit. I transitioned from powerlifting to bodybuilding and haven’t looked back since. Powerlfiting gave me a set of tools unique to only a few. It gave me an understanding of intensity in training. I feel this has been a large contributor to my success as a bodybuilder and hope to share that with you.
