Well good news and bad new today. Lets start with the good. I woke up at an all time low weight for prep, 219lbs. Really happy to see the scale move, I had been at 222lbs for a while. My pics looked stellar too, much harder every where. I guess the ARC trainer is really a beast at burning calories lol.
Now the bad news. I went to train legs and of course I am in a new gym and I like to try machines that I don’t have. So, I was doing a Hammer Strength Deadlift Machine, but using it for split squats. It was my 5th rep, I went down felt a twinge in my right rectus femoris. I then went for one more rep and POP. I felt that tissue slide under the skin and I tore my rec fem some. I know its not a complete tear, just a minor to moderate tear. Ironic thing is last prep I had the same injury on the other leg doing nearly the same exercise but out of the smith machine. This hammer strength machine put me in a much greater stretch and it was too much. But I do have the Neufit machine, last year in 4 weeks I was 100%. I think I can heal this one quicker. I can stick to walking for cardio and the neufit session I will have some extra calorie expenditure as well. Its all part of the game, shit happens. Life isn’t over, I still live everyday with an amazing wife and life that I would change for anything. You have to keep your perspective with things like this. People are fighting cancer, starving in third world countries, etc, so I still rejoice I can do the things I love, with the people I love.
